Our beginnings
The Beginnings of FAE
The Faculty of Administration and Economics was officially created on November 13, 1972, inheriting the legacy of the former School of Public Accountants of the Universidad Técnica del Estado. Since its inception, it has maintained a strong commitment to academic excellence and the development of professionals for the country.
First Departments
In its initial stage, FAE was organized into three major areas of knowledge: Administration, Accounting and Auditing, and Economics. These departments laid the foundation for solid and specialized training in economic and management sciences.
Academic expansion
Starting in 1978, FAE vigorously took on the task of teaching, developing research, and promoting outreach activities. This allowed for the consolidation of the Business Administration and Public Accountant and Auditor programs, thus expanding its academic and professional impact.
Research and development
The Faculty promoted the formation of research teams in various strategic areas, such as Labor Legislation, Social Psychology, Finance, Operational Auditing, Tax Legislation, and Personnel Administration, strengthening its contribution to knowledge and society.
Innovation in academic programs
During the 80s, FAE expanded its academic offerings with new degrees and specializations, such as Bachelor's degrees in Administration Sciences and Accounting and Auditing, as well as certifications and post-graduate diplomas in key areas like Tax Legislation and Public Management.
Outreach and engagement
FAE has developed intensive outreach work, organizing high-quality courses, workshops, and seminars aimed at executives and professionals. Through these initiatives, it has strengthened its relationship with the social and productive environment, permanently contributing to the country's development.
A new area of study
In 1992, the Department of Management and Public Policy was founded as an academic unit under FAE. In that same year, the undergraduate Public Administration program was launched. Since its creation, the Department has consolidated itself as a center of excellence, bringing together specialists who develop research, teaching, and technical assistance in the field of public management.
