Frequently asked questions

1. Check Enrollment Dates

Review the academic calendar on the official USACH website. The specific dates for returning student enrollment for each semester are listed there.

2. Access the Enrollment Portal

Log into the online payments and services portal [https://serviciosweb.usach.cl/login]) using your student credentials (institutional email and password, ClaveÚnica, or simply with your RUN/ID). Verify if your access is enabled for enrollment. Make sure you do not have outstanding debts or pending financial commitments with the university.

. Pay the Enrollment Fee

Select “Matrícula y Arancel” (Enrollment and Tuition) and make the corresponding payment online or at authorized banking institutions. If you hold financial aid benefits (Gratuidad, scholarships, or student loans), make sure they are active and applied.

4. Confirm Payment Success

Once the payment is complete and the online process is finished, check that your proof of payment was generated correctly.

Important Considerations:

  • Article 5 of the General Regulations for Undergraduate Studies: In each academic semester, students must enroll within the established deadlines. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to dismissal from the degree program.

  • If you have Gratuidad, university loan benefits, or state scholarships, you must still fulfill this requirement by following the exact steps outlined above.

  • If you cannot pay your enrollment fee within the dates established by the University, you must request an Enrollment Payment Deferral (Prórroga de Pago de Matrícula).

If you did not pay your enrollment fee and the deadline to request a payment extension has passed, you must access the FAE Intranet and submit a Late Enrollment Request (Matrícula fuera de plazo) by following these steps:

  1. Access the FAE Intranet: Log into the system with your credentials (username/password or ClaveÚnica).

  2. Go to the Requests Section: In the main menu, select Utilities > Requests > New

  3. Select Request Type: Find and select “Matrícula fuera de Plazo” (Late Enrollment).

  4. Submit Request: Verify all information before submitting, then click Send.

If you need to submit a readmission request as a FAE USACH student, you can do so through the FAE Intranet:

  1. Access the FAE Intranet: Log into the system with your credentials.

  2. Go to Requests: Navigate to Utilities > Requests > New.

  3. Select Request Type: Choose “Reincorporación” (Readmission).

  4. Submit: Review the information and click Send.

Important Considerations:

  • After failing a course for the second time, your first request for readmission due to academic grounds will be approved automatically.

  • Upon failing the same course for a third time, your request must be escalated to the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs.

  • Access the FAE Intranet: Log into the system with your credentials.

  • Go to Requests: Select Utilities > Requests > New.

  • Select Request Type: Choose “Retiro Temporal” (Temporary Leave).

  • Complete the Request Form: Provide the required information:

    • Reason for Leave: Clearly explain personal, academic, or health reasons.

    • Term of Leave: Indicate the semester/year (e.g., First Semester 2025).

    • Supporting Documents: Attach medical, employment, or supporting documents.

  • Submit: Review carefully and click Send.

Key Tips:

  • Under Article 18 of the General Regulations for Undergraduate Studies, to request a temporary leave, the student must be enrolled in the academic term from which they wish to withdraw (maintaining regular student status).

  • Deadlines: Submit this application as early as possible, as strict deadlines apply.

  • Access the FAE Intranet: Log into the system.

  • Go to Requests: Select Utilities > Requests > New.

  • Select Request Type: Choose “Renuncia a la Carrera” (Program Resignation).

  • Complete Form: Explain your reasons clearly (personal, academic, work-related) and attach supporting documents if applicable.

  • Submit: Review and send.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Final Decision: Resignation from a degree program is a permanent, irreversible process.

  • Advising: If you have doubts about financial aid/scholarship impacts, consult your Department Chair (Jefe de Carrera) or the Student Benefits Office.

  • Access the FAE Intranet: Log into the system.

  • Go to Requests: Select Utilities > Requests > New.

  • Select Request Type: Choose “Prórroga de Estudios” (Study Extension).

  • Complete Form: Explain the reasons why you need extra time to finish your degree, state the period requested, and attach supporting documentation if applicable.

  • Submit: Review and send.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Log in to FAE Intranet: Go to [https://intrafae.usach.cl/intranetv7/CommonLoginEnableForm]

  2. Enter Requests: Select Utilities > Requests.

  3. Choose Request Type: Select “Tramitación Expediente” (Degree File Processing).

  4. Select Degree Type: Choose Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree.

    • Note: You must have completed your Bachelor’s degree processing before requesting your Professional Degree.

  5. Upload Documents: Upload required files in PDF format.

  6. Submit: Confirm all details and click Send.

  7. Check Status: Track status under Intranet: Under Review, Observed (Needs Revision), or Accepted.

1. What if I was not awarded Gratuidad because my Social Household Register (RSH) is above the 60% vulnerability tier, but this does not reflect my family’s actual situation?

You must file an official appeal directly with MINEDUC through www.beneficiosestudiantiles.cl. Appeals are the sole responsibility of the student. Check MINEDUC’s official portal for deadlines.

2. I applied via FUAS, and my result indicates I must undergo a “Socioeconomic Evaluation” (Evaluación Socioeconómica). What does this mean?

This means you must submit your family unit’s socioeconomic documents directly to the University because MINEDUC detected a discrepancy between your Social Household Register (RSH) and your FUAS form. You must schedule an in-person appointment with your program’s Social Worker.

3. Where can I check my State-Guaranteed Loan (CAE) pre-selection status?

Check directly at www.ingresa.cl. If pre-selected, follow the updates carefully regarding bank contract signing procedures.

4. I received Gratuidad or a MINEDUC Scholarship. How is it applied to my account?

The benefit is applied internally by the university. It is not immediate; please allow a few weeks for it to reflect in your financial status.

5. What if I received the Solidarity Fund (Fondo Solidario)?

You must wait for the promissory note (pagaré) signing period, which takes place on campus once per semester.

6. How is the CAE (State Loan) applied?

Wait for Comisión Ingresa to notify you to sign the loan contract with the assigned bank. Once signed, the credit will be applied to your university account.

7. Does Gratuidad guarantee the JUNAEB Food Scholarship (BAES)?

No. BAES is awarded based on specific socioeconomic criteria and available JUNAEB budget. Gratuidad alone does not automatically grant the BAES card.

8. How do I know if I received the BAES Food Scholarship?

The provider (Pluxee) will send an email with instructions, or you can check online at [https://baes.junaeb.cl/BAES/servlet/hantecedentes](https://baes.junaeb.cl/BAES/servlet/hantecedentes).

9. How do I update my Social Household Register (RSH)?

Online via [https://www.registrosocial.gob.cl/](https://www.registrosocial.gob.cl/) (using ClaveÚnica) or in person at your local municipality (Municipalidad).
